[g2:7363 class=left] I've added the [Drupal OpenID](http://drupal.org/project/openid) module to my installation here on Willfe.com, permitting you to use your [OpenID](http://openid.net) for authentication on your account if you'd like. You can create an account on Willfe.com using your OpenID, and you can add an OpenID to your existing account by clicking "My Account" on the top of every Willfe.com page, then selecting "OpenID Identities" tab. For those wondering what the big deal is, it's ultimately a matter of convenience. If you create an OpenID account somewhere (if you use AOL Instant Messenger, or use any one of a few other [big sites](http://openid.net/get/), you've already got one), you can use it as your identity (or login) on any site that supports OpenID (including mine, now). Initially, it seems like an extra step -- hand Willfe.com your OpenID URL (it's cut-and-paste), get sent away from Willfe.com to your OpenID provider's login page, log in, and come back to Willfe.com, already logged in. Ultimately, it's a Good Thing(tm). Once you've signed in one time on your provider's login page, you don't have to sign in again until your session times out or you intentionally log out. You *never* actually send any password (at all) to Willfe.com (or any other site that can use OpenID) -- that's the good part -- and you can grant Willfe.com permission to always immediately accept your ID, or just once (that's another good part; if you don't trust a site, you can force it to get your permission anytime it wants to validate you). Until it becomes more widespread, consider it as a shortcut to a lot of blogging and social sites -- log in once to your OpenID, then every site that wants a login can alternately just use your OpenID instead of setting up yet another account with yet another password. Now, you get "yet another account" but it's tied to your OpenID -- no passwords required. Woot!
