The slow collapse of "woke" media continues with further layoffs at Vice. More useless thought leaders are now free to contemplate learning how to code:
I can't find any news articles covering this yet (very meta), but it's generally fairly reliable when Twitter shrieks about things like this because they can't help but virtue signal while playing victim.
I love the quiet admission in the post that "media unions cannot prevent layoffs." They're learning an important lesson! Unionizing can be a very powerful thing, but it also runs the risk of backfiring, like when Walmart closed a store that voted to unionize. A judge ruled that it was illegal to do so, but they still did it anyway, and the affected workers still lost their jobs. The penalty will undoubtedly be a drop in the bucket, and they're still doing it elsewhere.
